#1 Mountain Bike Destination in the East

WELCOME to Kingdom Trails in Northeast Vermont, a multiple-use trail system unlike any other and recently voted Editors' Choice in the 2006 edition of the Yankee Magazine Travel Guide to New England, and in their latest issue of the YANKEE MAGAZINE we were highlighted as one of the ten "Thrills of a Lifetime" for a family getaway in New England. Click HERE to read the Yankee Magazine article.

We were also named BEST OF NEW ENGLAND by Boston Magazine Travel & Life.
We are located in East Burke, Vermont, named one of the 101 Best Outdoor Towns in the U.S.

"UNE PAGE EN VERSION FRANCAISE"

Come and see for yourself our extensive network of scenic recreational trails constructed to accommodate all levels of ability.

We are working hard to provide a quality trail system that not only makes for an unforgettable outing but will not negatively impact the surrounding natural resource. Come experience mile after mile of winding singletrack, long-forgotten cart roads, broad fire roads, and scenic country roads all begging to be explored on foot, a bicycle, skis, or snowshoes. We are closer than you think and we know if you visit us once, we will see you again.

Enjoy the pastoral and wild setting in the rolling hills of Vermont's Northeast Kingdom while you are MOUNTAIN BIKING, HIKING, TRAIL RUNNING, NORDIC SKIING, and SNOWSHOEING.

Kingdom Trails is a charitable non-profit conservation organization, driven by a volunteer Board of Directors, working in partnership with private landowners, local businesses, government agencies and other non-profit organizations to create and manage out-door recreation opportunities and preserve and protect trails. During all seasons of the year we offer an extensive trail network for non-motorized, multi-use recreation activity. Currently all mapped trails in our local area are on private land. Kingdom Trail Association was formed to create legal access to these trails and manage the system. In order to generate the funds needed to maintain the trail system and manage usage on private land the Association requires all users to purchase either a Day Member Pass or a Membership to access the trail system. We strive to keep our rates extremely low so that everyone will be able to enjoy the trails.

A local artist, Dorian McGowan, has been busy making beautiful pieces that now adorn our walls at our Welcome Center. Dorian's work is a fantastic mix of bike parts from our local shops and his imagination. Click on the link below to see some of his work, there's also much more at our Welcome Center.

Dog Policy

Kingdom Trails would like to remain amenable to dogs using the trails but there are too many issues regarding dogs to ignore. Recently, a dog policy was formulated to ensure that the trails remain a positive experience for all users and the natural resource is not unnecessarily impacted.

Kingdom Trails STRONGLY encourages our members and guests to leave their dogs at home.
PLEASE! ABSOLUTELY NO DOGS ON WEEKENDS!

If they so choose to bring their dog it must be in control at all times, preferably by a leash. Please clean up after your dog by burying the waste. We also request that folks do not leave their dogs in their vehicle or tied to a tree while they are out enjoying the trails.

Some of the concerns about dog companions that were raised by the Board of Directors are listed on our "Policies and FAQs" page We thank you ahead of time for heeding this policy established to help mitigate these issues.
