Summer Time Parking:
Our main summer time parking is located behind the Pub Outback. Look for our red signs once you enter the village. On weekends, we also recommend parking 1/4 mile south of the village near the Burke Storage Units, located on the right side of Rte. 114. There is also parking at the top of Darling Hill, next to the Inn at Mountain View. (PARKING AT THE INN AT MOUNTAIN VIEW REQUIRES A $5 PARKING FEE THAT BENEFITS THE “RESCUE ANIMAL SANCTUARY”. ) You can also park at East Burke Sports, but please do not park in their “customer parking” reserved spaces if you are going out on the trails.
Please do not park at the River Garden Restaurant & Chappy’s Ice Cream parking lot.
Our summer time trail system basically leaves from the village and utilizes the unique glacial features of both Darling Hill Ridge and Burke Mountain, our local ski area. With very sandy loam soil on Darling Hill Ridge we are able to provide smooth winding singletrack that takes you from panoramic field views to riverside pine forests. We have multiple trails that leave from the summit of Burke Mountain that are more gravity assisted. The trails on Burke Mountain are designed to offer you great singletrack with a bit more technical feel. We build both new trails as well as enhance the ones that exist every year. Your user fee helps us do this by providing summer help and volunteer leaders to accomplish a lot of this work.
Winter Time Parking:
Parking to access the Dashney Farm Nordic Trails is at the Dashney Farm Nordic Center located at the end of Dashney Rd. To get to Dashney Rd., follow the Mountain Rd. out of East Burke Village. Just past the Burke Mtn Base Lodge entrance, you will see a road between two yellow houses on your left. That is Dashney Rd. At the end of the road, you will find the Dashney Farm Nordic Center complete with a warm fire, hot chocolate, coffee, snacks, soup on the weekends, glide and kick waxes, Skida hats, and more.
